Are getting alot lighter! A sure fire way of knowing that spring is on it’s way. It is no longer dark at 3pm, it is no longer still dark at 7am! Hoorah! There are even some daffodil shoots in my back yard which I am very excitied about.
So it’s almost been a month, but it honestly doesn’t feel like it. The weeks are flying by quicker than I thought imaginable and it’s already the beginning of Feb.
It has been a busy las couple of weeks. e have had our event week with all our events, and then we have been busy getting on with a three day conference in Brighton at the end of March and a graduation ceremony that was meant to take place this week but has been postponed. We are getting lots more survey requests which is great and something I’m really enjoying. We are expanding our research side of things, well, at least planning on it anyway.
I passed my three month review for Event Exec which was good! A little weird being reveiwed by your boyfriend but thats just one of the challenges we have taken on board! And I think we survived rather well.
Socially, things have been alittle crazy. Zua has up and left the country to go to Australia for a few months and then off teaching in Asia for a while. We had several leaving do’s – a surprise australian themed one complete with meet pies, arnotts BBQ shapes and warheads! Then we had work drinks at a Salsa place and it was really good fun. The night before she left we went to a very zula-esque bar in east london which was great but I have to say we were very sad to see her go.
I caught up with Amy and Keira on Fri night which was great. It’s nice having a couple more of the girls over here and now with Kel Miller as well, it’s almost just like being at home.. except for the warmth of course!
So, Valentines is just around the corner and for the first time in my life I have a boyfriend!! I am being whisked away on Wed niht to a secret location for dinner and then we have also booked a bonafide mini break to Brugge for the weekend that follows. We got a great deal and going first class on the eurostar!! So posh!! So excitied!
I caught up with Nicole Metham on Thursday night which was great. We always manage to pick up where we left off but have promised to be better friends and see more of each other!
Now, Jayno came home for a very brief couple of days which was so nice and then off she went again to Oz. It was alla big surprise and I heard that both Sue and Paul were gobsmacked at seeing both their girls at the restaurant for dinner! Awwww! And Mardi no doubt was thrilled with her birthday present!! So Jayno is off for goodness knows how long and Merle is on her way over too - wish i could be there to join in the sight seeing, shopping and general reunion-ness but finances and time of year just can’t allow it.
However, I will be coming home in Nov (with a plus one perhaps…) and celebrating Caryn and Max’s wedding which will be a great family bash and always a great time to come back and see everyone.
So i think thats about it at the moment…
How are you all doing? Still there after 2 years? I hope so!!
Lots of love
Ash
