ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

I’m officially KNACKERED!

I think i have been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle – I have had yet another massive weekend gallavanting across the English countryside in search of fun and adventure – both successfully found!

Thursday night we had an old Geronimite come and visit so we had some after work drinkies at the local, Blue Posts. I was clearly a little excitied about meeting this infamous character and had to take myself home before 10! Oops! Serves me right for eating only a salad for lunch… Yes, i seriously blame the lack of food.

Friday I was a little under the weather but soldiered on and got a dvd and had a bbq at my place and a well deserved night in and sleep in in the the morning.

Kirst and I had all intentions of getting up to Tamworth ( no, not the one is Oz…) for 12 when the festival started but then it just seemed silly getting there that early – so we headed up at 1 with Kirst’s sister Seonaid ( pronounced Shona) and her flatmate Helen – the train took a little longer than anticipated and we got up there at5:30 – set the tents up and sat and took in the surrounds.

It was a teeny tiny litle festival with only two main tents and not alot else – but the music was wicked, the atmosphere amazing – set on a field of Catton Hall – and a small group of about 2000 people. Met a guy from the Shire ( surprise, surprise), played football in one of the tents and danced for 11 hours straight. Finally called it a day at 5am, had an hours sleep and then packed up the tent and started the epic journey back to London.

SIX HOURS LATER… I arrived at my door step looking very very very very bad.

Showered up and rested, had dinner in and watched the football – Yay Italy!- and then today I am just plain old fashion tired. I need sleep.

This week is busy too – but nothing on for the next two nights, wednesday out with Sarah and Thursday night we have an event for Camden Council which should be good!

So thats me this Monday afternoon – How’s all with everyone there? Bit chilly last night on your side hey!!

hope your all well

These Are A Few Of My Favourite Things

Thursday, July 6th, 2006

Julie Andrews may have sung about woollen mittens and brown paper packages tied up with string but me, i like the smell of the ground when it’s been really hot and there is a sotrm about to break. The air here is laiden with a musky summer smell that i can only associate with an aussie summer.

The sky is grey and dark but it’s still really warm and the air almost hugs you and frankly, i am LOVING it.

So, let me catch you up on the last week and a half. Sarah and I went to Les Mis which was amazing. We were both knackered and our seats weren’t exactly amazing, but to finally see a show where i knew most of the songs and such a historic show! It was really amazing and I want to buy some good seats and go and see it again.

On Friday last week we got on the train down to Brighton for a weekend away by the seaside(!). It was absolutely perfect weather for sitting around drinking, eating and swimming. Yes, we went swimming and it was delicious. The beaches in brighton are pebbles which is such a weird contrast to our golden sands in Oz and the water isn’t as clean but twice as cold. So nice to get all salty and cool again. It’s the first time i have been swimming since last year, which is what I can stand over here. Getting so hot and not being able to swim to cool off!

We went shopping, ate good food, watched the footy and went on a historic ghost walk of the town. So much history jam packed into a small place. Another reason for loving England!

On sunday we shopped and then went swimming and then jumped on the train back to Clapham which only took 45 mins!!! Too easy!

Sunday night we went domestic and cleaned the place and got ready for another week.

Monday night Laura and Dana came over for a much needed catch up – I don’t think i had really even seen Jayne for at least a week! It got a bit reminiscent when we pulled out the CD’s of photos and had a bit of a slid show!

Tuesday Night Sarah and I went to Alex Miller’s ( T8 work mate) place in Fulham and went to alovely place for dinner and a final hoorah and catch up! And then home to pack for Sarah who was on a flight Wednesday Morning.

So Sherbs is off safe – apparently they had to stop to refuel in KL rather than Singapore because of such bad weather, but then had to stop in Singapore anyway! So no doubt she will be very exhausted when she lands.

Last night I went to Kirsty’s for dinner and we whipped up a scrummy dinner for two and then to Polly’s with intentions of watching a film but then got distracted with gossip and big brother! Finally got home about 11ish and then straight to sleep.

This weekend Kirsty, her flatmate Helen and her sister Shona and i are off to a music festival called Tales of the Jackalope ( www.talesofthejackalope.com) which is going to be awesome! Mylo, 2manyDJ’s and Scratch Perverts all playing in the gorunds of a county manor house!! Talk about juxtoposition!!!

So that goes from midday on sat til 5am sunday – and then we will be back into London for the footy i think!

I feel like I am constantly on the go at the moment but not complaining at all!

5 weeks til i come home, and I am sad to say I am going to actually be cutting the holiday short by a few days. I am now coming back to the UK on the 3rd Sept – so will be in Sydney for my birthday on the 2nd so will organise something closer to the date!

Hope all is good with  you and the winter isn’t freezing you too much!
