9 months…

No, i’m not pregnant… just waiting for SUMMER!

It’s been 9 months since it was summer last and it’s just not looking promising. While the sun is out it’s still avery brisk 15 degrees, which is probably colder than some of the places you guys are now!

So we had yet another bank holiday weekend which was jam packed with all sorts of goodness. Friday night i caught up with Caryn and Max in belsize park. It was a good catch up and some much need sisterly chats were had, including one that resulted in my credit card being cut up into may little pieces! argh!! debt free here we come!

Saturday Shauny Holt came over to see my new place and we cooked up a big ol’ breakfast but with my sensitive stomach at the moment ( had a bit of a case of things not staying down last week) it didnt sit too well. But the company was good and thats all that matters.

Jayno came home looking more brown than ever, making me look even more white than i really am… honest!! We mooched about and then decided we needed a girls night out with Lau and Dana and so head off to Fulham to Elk bar which was unbelieveably packed and not with the desirable kind.. however, we kicked on and then went home at a reasonable hour.

Sunday I wasn’t feeling so crash hot but managed to get to Primark for a quick spot of shopping and then back home again to Fulham with the girls to the P and P which was ridiculously packed and had a line u psomewhat reminiscient of Northies. Jayno and i vetoed this and went to another bar to get a glass of vino while the others finished theres and the P&P and then went back to the Elk which was much much better than the previous night. We even bumped into some people we had met the night before! OOps!

Monday Jayne and I had a lazy morning ( ok, I had a lazy morning, jayne went to the gym) and then cleaned up and a bit and then went to Clapham to meet up with Aja and Chris ( Jayne’s friends) who took us to a great gastro pub just near us which i am sure we will be frequenting much more! A good sunday afternoon pub with yummy food. Can’t get much better than that!!

It also turns out the Aja and Chris are friends with Allira and Sam who also had dinner with Emma and Dewy. Yes the world is too small!!!!!!!!!!

I  got home and was a little dozy and then found that The Sound of Music was on tellie and revelled in some much needed Julie Andrews singalongs!

And Now it’s back to work for a short week. Not alot planned at the moment for this weekend but next weekend we have the Bon Jovi Concert which will undoubtably be sooooo unreal. Very excitied about it.

Then Keira is here on the 11th, Sherbs on the 22nd, weekends away in between and then thats pretty much July over and then i’ll be come on the 18th August!!! Can you believe. I’ll be around for three whole weeks so looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Hope all is good.

Merle – thanks for the phone call my luv! So good to hear from you! oxoxoxo

Viva Le Gay Pari!

Yes on this very spontaneous fortnight with Mum staying, we decided to nip over to Paris… because we can!

I have had five days off work and we got the Eurostar on Saturday into Paris where we did a bit of an anti-tourist adventure where we didn’t even go into a single gallery or museum.. We did sit on a tour bus and watch the world go buy and ate good french food and drank good french wine and caught up on the last 7 months of each others lives.

As Mum so aptly put it “We’re just catching up with each other and just HAPPEN to be in Paris!!”

The weather was good and not too hot or cold, a little rainy but nothing could dampen our moods. It was just so lovely to have my Mum with me on Mothers Day.

Last week was a busy week with work – we had an event for a campaigne called Age Positive and it was a really successful day and again, loving the events thing. So fingers crossed it continues in the direction its going in!

This week has been fine – back to the normal grind. Mum is off tomorrow night and I am not liking it too much… I think it’s harder for me to see her off then for me to leave from home if that makes sense. But i will be back home in August for THREE WHOLE WEEKS including for my birthday so we will all have to have a bit of a party!!

Mate – Happy Birthday for the 16th. always good to speak to you not over msn!!

Sherbs – see you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nic Latham – are you still over here?!?!?!?!

Em – even though i will see you tonight, have a safe trip!

Miller – how you doing hun?

Amber and Alexis – Happy Birthday ladies!!!!!! I Didn’t forget but wasn’t somewhere i could get in touch til today! xoxoxoxox

Everyone else, hope you are well!!

I’m a Soul (Wo)Man

I’ve found a place, where we can BOOGIE!! and it is located 2 hours from London in a town called Great Yarmouth.

And that is where i spend my weekend last week – we had a bank holiday weekend and i had the oppurtunity to experience a music festival that has been around for years and is a bit of an institution to the people that go there and soul music lovers around the country.

Russ from work’s parents own a t-shirt company and they have a stall at the festival every year and I volunteered to  help out and get a glimpse of something i don’t think one would really come across with out insider help.

So after a food tasting session on friday afternoon for an event we have coming up, Russ and I hit the road and got to Yarmouth at about midnight where we were thrown right into the swing of things – which in my opinion is the only way!

The night ended just as the birdies came out to greet the morning, yes 4am and we were all knackered. But then managed to  get up at about 11am and get back into the selling of shirts. basically Russ’s parents, Carol and Graham have set up the system where by people can chose their own colour and size shirt and then choose the print to go on it with a heavy duty iron thingy which was a little bit daunting at first, but i got the knack of it in due time!

So we spent out days grooving to the soul train sounds of an era that i wasn’t around for, but surprisingly knew alot of songs and caught myself having a little belt out of a few tunes!

Basically our days were all about the t-shirts, up at midday and working til 4 or 5am but it didn’t feel like it at all. Everyone had a story to tell, no pretences and there was always a very drunk person dancing about to keep the entertainment value up. On the Saturday night it was fancy dress, Carnival theme. And i thought i went all out for fancy dress!! Hooly Cow!! There were some very very very interesting interpretations and some very brave people – costumes ranged from mexican men to full on carnival styloe feathered outfits.. me? i just stuck to a glittery kaftan and some shorts.. safe i know, very unlike me. I wanted the all famous, multi purpose pink wonder of a dress that most of you are familiar with, but alas its at home!

So the weekend was wicked, but was totoally knackered – had a very hectic week with the up and coming event next week which i am helping out at.

and then i was sooooooooo happy to hear that my totoally spontaneous mother has decided to jump on a plane and will be on the shores of london town on SUNDAY!!!!

I am so excitied and she couldnt have times it better with lots of fun and games ot be had in paris next weekend with Sara Robinson!

So thats me – its sunny and hot outside and its beer o’clock!!

HOPE ALL IS GOOD ON THE FLIP SIDE
