Winter Woolies

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005

The cold front has definitly hit London this week – forcasts are saying it’s going to SNOW at the end of the week!! So while you are sunning your faces, spare a thought for your frosted friends over here…it may well be a white christmas after all!!

So, the weekend.
Friday I was, in a word, disgusting. I was a tad bit hungover after going to a cool bar – from which my jacket was stolen from, and so i took one that was left there at the end..eye for an eye and all that jazz!!
So had a quiet one in, dinner and a DVD at a mate’s place. Noice.

Saturday met the girls in town and went shopping. Was such a nice day. I mean it’s cold but its sunny and nice.
Sat evening we hit Fluid Bar where Clive was DJ’ing with Basement Jaxx front man. Wasn’t really up for a big night but it was awesome! Stayed til 2am and then went home and crashed out.

Sunday Jayne and I decided we needed to get back into DOING stuff on the weekends..So we met Lexy in town and went to Yum Cha and ate lots and lots of food!! So good!
Then jayno went off to work and Lexy and I decided to go for a stroll…we walked down from Leicester Square to Trafalgar Square where Carla was working on the RedBull Railstorm where they had made the square into a ski slope – very cool. Then we went down to Buckingham Palace, bumped into Lexy’s cousin, then we walked down to Victoria and had a drink.
Walked all the way back up to Piccadilly Circus and went our seperate ways!!
It was cold, and i mean C.O.L.D but the fresh air is so nice!

Got home and Merle and I ordered in a Indian FEAST!! Watched Notting Hill and slept.
And then we are back to Monday…
The new girl, Maxine, is coming round for dinner tonight.
Tomorrow I am going on a date with a landscape gardener, Wednesday I want to go and see Harry Potter and then its the weekend and PAY DAY!!!!!
Think we are going to go to Asia De Cuba for our last dinner with Carla…thought we would go out in style! heh!

Other than that, not alot is happening!!

Jodes and Alexis – Congrats on finishing Uni my dears!! Hoorah!!
Shabs – stay in there buddy, you’ll be just fine.
Em and the Girls – how was the farewell?? Lots of tears?
Hope everyone is a-ok.

Long Week Gone Fast

Saturday, November 19th, 2005

Hello Readers,
I hope you haven’t all lost interest in the site this week – however the message board has been somewhat neglected i feel..

Anyways – like the title suggests, its been a long week and yet gone very very fast. It’s almost time for drinks at work and then its the start of yet another weekend!! Hoorah!!
The weather has turned cold to the point where everyone comes in with pink cheeks. It’s still sunny blue sky days which hopefully will remain for a while.

We have found a new flat mate and in no way, shape or form is she to replace Carla, but it’s comforting to know we have someone to move in when Carla leaves the chateau. Which, i might add, is in 3 weeks. Can you believe the girl has been here for 6 months now!! Goodness me the time goes!

So basically it’s been go go go at work and am loving it – it’s so strange how much busier this place is compared to newsquest and yet has about a third of the people! Crazy!!

This weekend we’re having a bit of a girlie day tomorrow and then tomorrow night we are off to a bar in Farringdon where a mate is dj’ing with the guy from Basement Jaxx. Should be very cool.
Speaking of cool, went to a tops bar last night called Social, completly old school to the point where the menu is all things baked beans on toast, crisp sandwiches etc Expensive considering what they offer but so cool. And they had a Hip Hop kareoke night last night in which we (Zula – girl from work – and her flat mates) belted out Outkasts Hey Ya to an audience who were taking the whole thing a little too seriously!! Seriously though, 8 Mile eat your heart out!

So, not really alot more to add at the moment!
Might be planning a quick trip to Barcalona to visit Lauren as Carla will be there too, and am trying to work out what we are doing for NYE.
Robbie Williams tickets go on sale on monday and we are going to try and buy tickets for his show in Copenhagen which would be awesome. Jayno bought tickets to Bon Jovi which will be pretty awesome – so its all happening on the music scene!!

ok feel like i am blabbering a little bit – so will sign off for now

Wonderful Winter

Tuesday, November 8th, 2005

Hello!
Welcome to November – and while you are all sunning yourself senseless it is truly becoming winter over here. Dark by 4pm, not light until 7am… and boy is it starting to get cold!!

The weekend was again, rather mammoth. Last week at work was very hectic so i was looking forward to the weekend for some fun and laughter. And fun and laughter was what was had!

Friday night after work drinkies, i set off to see the old Newsquest gang. It was so good to see everyone and while i felt like i barely got to talk to anyone, it was good to know that i can go back out with them and feel like nothing has changed!

Saturday i met Shaun at Notting Hill and we walked the Portobello Rd markets and had a good ol’ catch up as it had seriously been SO long!! Was feeling ever so slightly under the weather but kicked it away with an excellent pizza and a nap in the afternoon and then it was game on for Jayne’s birthday celebrations.
It started off with Moet in the flat, and then it was off to Wax Bar for happy hour cocktails and wine! The bar staff were a little taken aback when we purchased in bulk at 5 to 7 so as to save our little pennies!

We danced, boogies, drank, sang and shimmied the night away. Everyone was there and everyone was in top form. The photos are up to prove it!
We got home to a full house and cheese jaffles were made to compensate the lack of dinner!!

Sunday has really become the day of Sloth.
We sat and watched DVD’s all morning, i whipped up a batch of macaroni cheese to feed the masses and then there was some more sitting and watching while our crazy german schlumfe had downed two redbulls and was cleaning the flat like she was tazzi devil or something! CRAZY GERMAN!!!
We were all pretty zonked and wend to bed relativly early!

Work has been busy busy busy today and we have a girl coming to look at the flat this evening. Out for dinner tomorrow night for Jayno’s real birthday and then it’s all down hill for the weekend! WooHoo!!

Check out the pics, bit of a back log so take your time! heh!

Happy Halloween

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

Yes tis All Hallows Eve once again.
I hope you all went out and trick or treated you saturday nights in lieu of tonight!!

My weekend was pretty massive for the first time in AGES believe it or not!

Last week was very hectic with work – we have lots of award nights on at the moment so lot’s to be booked and organised. So was looking forward to the weekend.

Friday night I was going to have a quiet one but decided to meet up with Dana and Laura who had her friend from France over and Dana’s mate from work. Jayno was on her break so came and met us for that and we had a few drinks and a bit to eat. Lau and Dana left and i stayed on to wait for Jayne who finished at 10. We stayed til close and then went out with the bar guy who was from canberra and knew some people Jayne knows – small world!!
We went to a little Spanish Bar off Oxford st and then ended up at Shaftsbury Avenue WALKABOUT!!! Jayne and I were not really that impressed with this current location and seeing as it was now about 2am so we called it a night.
We got home and i crashed out on the lounge trying to watch a movie that just wasn’t working!! In the morning it was…not sure what happened there!!

Saturday Jayne and i went shopping for last minute things for our Halloween dress ups – Jayne was going as GI Jayne, Merle and angel and Carla was going as J-Lo. I was the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland ( photos to come tomorrow). So got home, lounged around for a little bit then started the process of getting ready.

We jumped on the tube to make our way to West Kensington where the party was on – and boy to we stand out!! One guy even asked Jayne which one of us lost the bet! However, everyone did really just keep their eyes down and not really respond to the unusual people who had jumped onto the tube!

We got to the party about 7:30ish and the girls had decked the place out with spooky stuff. Very cool indeed.
The party really kicked off about 10 and the place was PACKED!!! Many, many, MANY hours later we decided to head home and crash out – Day light saving ended so we went back an hour so technically it wasn’t THAT late…

I woke up to an empty house and then Merle and Carla came back after ducking out and buying 6 fabulous cheeseburgers, 3 large fried and 3 large cokes. Nothing in the world could have been better!!!!
We all slothed the day away and then Carla cooked up a yummy and slightly more nutrious dinner and then a few more DVD’s were watched and time for bed.

It was nice to wake up to light but still found it very hard to tear myself out from underneath my cosy and warm doona..it’s definitly becoming winter here!!!

And so brings another week – Tomorrow night I am helping out the award ceremony and am actually participating in some rather key roles which is a bit exciting!! Sound like a good night though, indoor fireworks, stiltwalkers, celebrities!! How exciting.

Nothing else massivly planned for rest of week but it’s Jayne’s birthday this weekend so we are out on the town once again! Bring it on!

Hope all is well over there, and so you know the time difference is 11 hours….or one hour back if you do it my way!!

hope you are all good
