Music For The Soul

Tuesday, October 25th, 2005

Hello Readers,
Well, it’s been one whole week since i have been at work and it seriously feels like those 2 weeks in Sydney just did not even happen.
Work is going really well, very busy as they have never had anyone in this position so there are no real outlines on what my job covers, so am just doing a bit of everything! The comapny itself is really good, the people are very nice and all pretty young and fun. Always a good thing!

Had a pretty busy week last week, trying to keep myself as booked out as possible which has worked. Was out nearly every night last week, then had a very quiet friday night in with some serious comfort food, Charlie’s Angel DVD and a warm blanket!
Saturday was very very very lazy – got out of bed about midday, watched the weeks Home and Away episodes ( the unveiling of the Summer Bay stalker was tops!) and then went shopping with Merle for bits for saturday night. I bought an ever so ‘in’ waist coast which is so HOT and a gorgeous black necklace and Merle bought all sorts of fab purchases and we went home and Carla, Merle and I started getting ready for Laura’s birthday drinks!
We were dolled up to the nines, deciding that it was time to start dressing up in all the beautiful clothes we own instead of standard jeans and tops. Went into Picadilly Circus to a bar called On Anon which was quite cool with all little rooms off each level. It went from being relativly empty to jam packed in seconds and while the music was awesome top 40 sing along to stuff, the girls from Chateau de Caledonia called it a night at about 12. Got the tube home, ate copious amounts of two minute noodles and crashed out.

Sunday was yet another day spent slothing around the place. Watched the omnibus of Hollyoakes and then tearing myself off the lounge to go and buy ingrediants for a home cooked roast chicken. Chans and Nic Metham came over and we had a feast of cheese and biccies followed by a Jamie Oliver roast chook stuffed with lemon and rosemary and taters with basil pesto and home made gravy… not bad even if i say so myself!!
With stuffed bellies we caught up on all the goss from the last few weeks and had a very nice night.

So a relativly quiet weekend but a good one.
Last night was a little bit lonely but as i listened to my now favourite aussie singer, Ben Lee – whose music seemed to hit the right spot – i resolved that things can only get better for me. So had a good nights sleep and am feeling rather postive today. Fingers Crossed it stays that way!!

Now Mum’s and Dad’s – The Today show is filming live from London, so Jayne and Carla will be going tonight I think to try and have a chat to ol’ Richie Wilkinson and I am going to try and get there on Thursday night, so watch out for us!!

I’m catching up wtih Nic and Caryn tonight which will be good, Nic is cooking so no doubt it will be absolutly scruptious!

Looks like Bridget might be ok afterall.

The World According To Bridget

Monday, October 17th, 2005

“It’s the truth universally acknowledged…
that the moment one area of your life starts going OK…
another part of it falls spectacularly to pieces”.

And so it is.
While my job is extremely promising my love life has fallen to bits after what has been possibly the roughest 2 weeks of my life…
So i find myself in a strangely altered London…

The flight was long and very turbulent, but on the second leg i had spare seat next to me so was able to stretch out and thanks to my new best friend Normasin, I had at least 4 hours sleep. The trains were stuffed in London, so it took me about 2 hours to get home. I literally had a shower and crashed out, slept all night and bummed around all day yesterday watching Sex and The City season 6 episodes… very theraputic – it could have been worse, He could have broken up with me with a post-it!
Merle cooked us a lovely dinner of salmon and potatos and then it was a pretty early night for all of us.
Then off to work in my new and totally inappopriate shoes and jacket, but looking very Londonesque indeed.

So, I think i can say that the next few days, perhaps weeks will be needed to accept a few major changes in my life but its all part of it right?
The only constant thing in life is change, so not much i can do but go with it.

Was really good seeing everyone at home, and thanks for the emails, texts and calls making sure i got here safe and sound.

Right well back to it, not time for self wallowing on one’s own website!!

take care everyone

DeJe Vu

Thursday, October 13th, 2005

Well, here i am again, getting all prepared to head back to London.
The last 10 days have been a blur of good times and bad times too – it’s hard to work out whether or not i’m happy to be leaving or not.
But have a lot to look forward to – The new job will be in full swing, and the girls at Chateau De Caledonia tell me our social calender is full for the next few weekends which is always a good thing.

Plane leaves tomorrow at 10:20pm i think, so probably won’t be seeing anyone again before i go. So thanks to all who came and saw me, and sorry for not catching up with more people or being in the mood for big nights out! There will always be next year!

Take Care.

A Sunday BBQ

Thursday, October 6th, 2005

An Invitation:
I would like to invite everyone to a Sunday BBQ
When: 9th October
Where: Shelly Park @ Cronulla
When: 4pm onwards
Why: To bring together everyone for a grand old catch up
What To Bring: BYO everything ( food, drinks etc) and if you have cricket bats, footballs or anything of the like please rbing it along for some good old fashion aussie summer fun!!
I would love for everyone to come along and say hi, even for a little while. If you know someone who doesn’t read this then pass the message along!!

On a sader note, I am sure you can imagine yesterday was tough. All my efforts of denying the purpose of my visit were smashed to smithereens as i watched all the different walks of life turn up at Pa’s funeral to pay their respects, it was emotional and many, many tears were shed, but he was an amazing man and will always be remebered that way.
Thanks to everyone for kind words, emails and text messages. They all went very much appreciated.

Hope to see you all on Sunday!!

The Homecoming

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

Well, the jet lagged has well and truly registered and the surreal feelings have yet to surpass, but it is nice to be here.
Arriving at the airport at 7pm to hear the news that Pa had passed away on friday night was almost soul shattering after such a long journey, but in retrospect, it is for the best. I’m here now and can support the family and not feel so useless like i was in London.
The funeral is tomorrow and njo doubt will be an emotional day, not much else it could be really.

On a lighter note though, you would all be happy to hear that i practically went from the airport straigh to Fusion for some long weekend fun. It was great seeing some people that i haven’t seen in ages (obviously) and i hope the surprise was equally fun for them!
Yesterday i struggled with a serious migrain and ‘black dot’ syndrome from the brightness of Sydney – i had forgotten how different the light is between my two cities and i must say i had grown accustomed to the dull London sky.
Sydney did show off for me yesterday with tops of 34 degrees, i did however, spend it all indoors due to afore mentioned issues! Today is slightly more grey but at least i can go outside without balck sunnies and a cap on!

Am looking forward to catching up with everyone although it is going to be a busy few days! I have an aussie mobile number so email if you would like it and we can catch up.

Hope everyone is well

A Change Of Plans

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

Hello Readers,
Now i haven’t been completely honest with you all, so it may come as a bit of a shock for you to find that i am actually writing this from Singapore Airport. Yes i’m on my way home.
It’s been a bit of a tough week but i have decided to come home to see Pa and catch up with everyone now rather than in January.
I didn’t broadcast it earlier because I didn’t book the flight until Thursday, it’’s all been a bit sudden and i haven’t actually got my head around the fact that i will be in Sydney in 7 hours. I am a bag of mixed emotions and even started crying while watching Herbie when Lindsay Lohan won the race against Matt Dillon, the people next to me have gradually moved as far away as possible!

The first leg of the flight has been a killer, but the next bit should be ok. Whats 7 hours after 13??

I will be buying an aussie sim card, but for the next few days i am contactable on my UK mobile still- best to text because it costs alot to call. I would like to catch up with everyone but am going to hang with the family for the first few days as i am sure you all understand.

Am looking forward to seeing you all!!
