Redbull Gives You Wings

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005

Hello Readers,
Well it’s taken me til today to muster up the energy to write of the past weekends tales. So with a sip of RedBull, i’m away –

Friday night was supposed to be a quiet night in, but Jayne was working, Merle was working late, Carla had free passes to a music festival and I was not going to sit by myself at home, so i went for a quick pint after work with work people. Went to one of the locals and then head off to Soho for a bit of a boogie at a night club called Madam Jo Jo’s. There were all these break dancers and i was in absolute awe of them. I asked one of them if they could show me some basic steps but they pretty much just laughed at me…i still can’t seem to work out why!!
Got home trying to be all stealth like, but its an almost certainty that when you try to be stealth you rarely are. So i woke up Carla, but finally crashed out asleep.
Saturday was a bit grey and yukky, but we had locked it in to clean up the flat. SO we mopped, vaccumed, washed, rinsed and cleaned the flat from top to tale! And boy did she come up a treat!! exhausted we slumped on the lounges and watched Grease. Carla headed off for day two of the festival, Jayne off to Richmond and Merle and I got dolled up to go to Caryn’s 30th in Notting Hill.
The room was fab, Caryn looked amazing and there was Moet flowing – no complaints from me!!
As token photographer I introduced myself to people and took many happy snaps which i should be putting up some time soon. It was a big night to say the least and Caryn definitly had a good time!
Sunday morning everyone was a bit groggy ( Carla and Jayne had come back to the party after their nights had ended) and although a sleep in and some pizza was tempting, i made myself look presentable and off to Primrose Hill for lunch for Caryn’s actualy birthday. It was a lovely spot and a lovely day. Great squid dish. mmmmm.
Then off to Heathrow to pick up Michaela….big hugs were had and again it felt like no time had passed what so ever…we caught up on the journey to my place and i got all the goss from home. Had a quiet night in with too cheese and then mic was off early to meet Bec and both of them to start their busabout tour…good times i am sure!

Monday night Jayno had a friend over for dinner, Tuesday night we had Jarrod from the Acton house over for dinner and then tonight we have passess to another festival ( it’s festival season over here)!

It’s only 8 days til i’m off on SOFAM tour – can not wait to be basking in the sun on the Dalmatian coast….ahhhh yes.

Thankfully with Carla’s new job we are able to continue our hectic lifestyle with the help of a little can of redbull! it’s a great perk!

ok i’m off, will update next week which will prob be my last in London for over a month! ahhhhhhhhhhhh

Blink And You’ll Miss It

*photos are up*
Well i think we just had our summer…
heh!

While I was in Dublin, London experienced hot summer temps of about 31 degrees. And i missed it.
This week has been gorgeous so far, glorious blue skies, fresh breezes and warm warm warm sunshine.
And yesterday was Summer’s Solstice – so our days are going to start getting shorter again…it just isn’t fair.
Guess my only compensation is my 4 week trip through out europe!! WOOHOO!! i’ll get tanned yet!!

So our little flat is still rather packed this week, a full house indeed!!
Carla started her new job at redbull, to which we are very grateful as we can now function better with the aid of free redbulls!! Yay!!
This is a bit of a nothingy entry, but i will try and get pics up today!! Sorry i have been so slack, my computer here doesn’t have the proper softwear, so will have to borrow someone else!
anyways, will have an action packed entry on monday after our big weekend!!

love you!!

Pa- good luck tomorrow. Am thinking of you.

To Be Sure, To Be Sure!

Monday, June 20th, 2005

I am back from the land of short green men, black beer and filthy streets!!
And boy did I have fun!!

Firstly it was so excellent to see Chez, it felt like no time whatsoever had gone by. I go into Dublin about 9ish and then got to Chez’s cousins Bianca and her boyfriend Pete’s place at about 10. Because it is light so late over here at the moment, we went to the pub to have the first pint of guiness for the weekend…and my last. Quite frankly the stuff tastes horrid!

It wasn’t a late night, but was a good one. Caught up on all the goss from back home and was still a little weirded out that i was sitting next to Chez…it felt like it was just after being back from Byron!! Too weird!!

Saturday, Bianca took us into the town centre and we got on one of those red tour buses. Probably the best way to get ones grip on a city. It was a spectacular day, nice and sunny with a bit of a breeze. Fabulous!
We got off at the Guiness factory and decided that seeing as we both couldn’t stand the smell, or be bothered waiting in line to purchase tickets, we went to the store, bought some souviners and headed back into the heart of Dublin.
Did a bit of shopping, ate a bit of food….fromage being the theme of the weekend, we bought some crunchy bread and some cheeses and sat in the park for a lil’ picnic!!
Very nice indeed!

Got back to Bianca and Pete’s and had a few drinks and a cheese board that was very very good!!
We started off our night at a place called The Market Place – an old shoe factory converted into a very cool bar. But like most places over here, very unequpit for hot weather so it was a bit warm. And what with a few bottles of wine in our bellies we were getting a bit tired. So we moved on to avery cool little cocktail bar with low ceilings and acquariums…a couple of redbulls later and chez and i were ready to DANCE!!
Went to a bar called Toast where we decided the tunes were worthy enough of our dancing – as we entered the dance floor none other than HEY YA came on…as you can imagine, we went BALLISTIC! CRazy twisting moves, shakes and uncontrollable laughter. This was then followed by Groover Armada which was greeted by us screaming and laughing….ahh too funny!! Had some interesting conversations with some irishmen, who we couldn’t understand AT ALL….some smiles and nodding took place and then a sly get away.
A bit of a phone call to Em, some more dancing and it was time to call it a night…or morning as it may have been!!
Sunday we had a late start, then off on a bit of a road trip to see some ruins in Wicklow. It was all going smoothly until we got a flat – as a team we managed to get it sorted in just under F1 times…heh!
Then arriving at an old ruins site that was near a lake. It was a goregous day and perfect for this kind of sightseeing.
Back home for a BBQ and a lazy night in.

Got up this morning at 3am, flight was at 6:30am but you know how i like to be prepared and on time, so was there 2 hours before i needed to be! Had a giant coffee, read some mags and it was time to go.
Got into London and then straight to work.
Am knackered!!
But a really great weekend!
Chez gets in this afternoon, and we are having our first family dinner EVER! Jayne is cooking up something delicious for us all ( there will be 8 all up – we have house guests!). Am looking forward to it.
Another busy week lies ahead – birthday drinks tomorrow, showing Chez the London night life on Wednesday, Thursday Dane Holt arrives in town, Chez leaves, Friday i don’t think i have anything on!! Caryn’s 30th on sat night and pick Michaela up from heathrow on Sunday!! Goodness me!!

Hope everything is going well for everyone else!!

Good luck to Examers – not long now!!
Girls – Got a very excitied text from Carla saying we recieved a parcel from you all – she had a peek but is waiting til i get home! very excitied indeed!!

ok better get back to it
love you!!

Its Noice, It’s Unusual….

Monday, June 13th, 2005

Hello!
Goodness me the time does seem to be flying – Monday AGAIN!!!
Happy Queens Birthday Everyone in OZ…. hope you have all had a good break!!
So i feel there is a bit of a repetitivness happening here, my weekends are starting to sound all a bit the same. But they are fun and thats what it important. right?

So this weekend i had planned for a quiet one, but that just never seems to happen now does it?
Friday night had drinks after work, and a bit of dinner on the Thames. Very nice indeed. Actually went to the OXO tower for some drinks aswell, its quite a cool spot as its very high up and on the river so the view is pretty special! (*Bit of trivia – its called the OXO tower the bricks that the building is made up of actually spell out the word OXO (chicken stock cubes) before advertising on buildings were allowed..).
Saturday was Notting Hill markets – some great purchases were made! Love having a shared wardrobe! Went to the Tate Briton which was quite cool and a little bit cultural!
And Merle moved in!! YAY!! our little family is complete now. Is quite cool having her with us and she likes it so much better than the Acton house. So happiness all around.
Sunday – Carla, Jayne and myself went to Toast Festival which is aussie food and wine. Was a bit of a yuk day, grey and very windy. But we kept our spirits high with Wolfblass, Jacobs Creek and Hardy aswell as proper steak sambos, meat pies and twisties! Ohhhhhh how we miss a good aussie feed!!!
Guest appearances from Kath & Kim was a little disappointing – the first season just started over here and believe it or not, they LOVE it and they actually GET it!! So the obvious lines were pulled out – Cardonnay, Horn Bag…Noice, Unuuuuusual! They really are quite funny!
We then decided it was too cold outside and went to Fulham to the P & P for some drinks – bumped into Esther from uni and her mate Chris who turned out to be a newington boy. This connection was made when we were talking about how small a world it is and he had bumped into a guy he went to school with called Josh…and i just said out of the blu e, how funny i bumped into a Josh too – Josh Thompson…and that was the same Josh Chris had bumped into!! CRAZY!!!! And then Josh turned up at the pub also….ahhh the world really is way too small.
So all in all another great weekend.
This week we have formal interview for the web editor job, pay day!!, and then off to Dublin on friday to meet up with Chez!! Can not WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear, if Carla, Jayne and I didn’t live together we would never see each other! It’s crazy.
Ok – photos this week i promise.

xx

Sherbs – How did the new job go?!?!?!!? i want all details!
Em – hope Melb was good.
Walkom – Carla and I had to text re:Kath & Kim….i could just see you having a right giggle about it!

ok better get back to it all.
